Lifefount Foundation Celebrates Successful Grand Finale of GEW Kwara 2025, Calls Youth to Embrace Creativity, Technology, and Innovation
The Lifefount Foundation today, Saturday, hosted the Grand Finale of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Kwara 2025 at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin, drawing a vibrant audience of young innovators, business leaders, policymakers, and development partners for a landmark closing session dedicated to enterprise development and empowerment.In her keynote address,
Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye, co-founder of Lifefount Foundation, expressed profound gratitude to all partners, ministries, speakers, vendors, and volunteers whose contributions made GEW Kwara 2025 a resounding success. She described the programme as a testament to what collaboration can achieve when the goal is to uplift communities and build an economy where young people can thrive.
Dr. Adeyeye emphasized that entrepreneurship is no longer optional for young Nigerians, given the realities of today’s economic landscape. She encouraged participants to build resilience, keep learning, and explore innovative ideas that can address real societal needs.
According to her, “The future belongs to those who are willing to create solutions, take risks, and use their skills to build value. GEW is only a beginning—what you do after today is what truly matters.”She further highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to long-term impact, noting that Lifefount Foundation will continue to support platforms that help young entrepreneurs access training, mentorship, and market opportunities.
She reiterated that the goal is not just to host events, but to build a community of confident, skilled, and creative young people capable of driving economic growth across Kwara State and beyond.
Speaking at the event, the Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kwara State, Alhaji Dare Abdulganiyu, applauded the Lifefount Foundation for championing youth empowerment through value-driven programmes. He stressed that entrepreneurship must go hand in hand with strong national values such as honesty, responsibility, and patriotism for young Nigerians to become globally competitive. He reaffirmed NOA’s readiness to strengthen partnerships that promote innovation and community development.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Shehu Ndanusa Usman, and the Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, represented at the event, urged young Nigerians to embrace creativity, entrepreneurship, and digital skills as pathways to financial independence and national development.
Representing the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, one of the palace chiefs conveyed the Emir’s message on the need for greater collaboration between government, businesses, and innovation hubs to support emerging entrepreneurs and deepen local economic development.
Earlier in her welcome address, Mrs. Susan Adekanye, Head of the GEW Kwara 2025 Planning Team, described the programme as a platform designed to encourage inclusion, collaboration, and entrepreneurial confidence among young people. She called for continued government support towards building an enabling environment for startups.
Other speakers also delivered insightful remarks:Oludele Simeon Ayobami, CEO of Kwara Tech Academy, highlighted the importance of digital literacy and innovation for future founders.Mr. Fabian George, CEO of Equity Circle, encouraged entrepreneurs to integrate technology into their operations to enhance visibility, sales, and efficiency, while adopting mentorship for sustainable growth.
