NOA Kwara Strengthens Ties with Al-Hikmah University, Advocates Moral Values and National Development

The Kwara State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), led by the State Director, Alhaji Dare Abdulganiyu, has on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.

The visit was to foster collaboration in promoting cultural values, moral integrity, and national development among students and youth.

During the visit, the NOA Director commended the university’s commitment to affordable education, including its flexible tuition payment system, which enables students from diverse backgrounds to access quality education.

Alhaji Abdulganiyu also highlighted NOA’s key initiatives, such as the National Values Charter, Campus Focus Programme, and publications, aimed at instilling patriotism, ethical conduct, and civic responsibility in Nigerian youth.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Noah Yusuf expressed appreciation for NOA’s role in national advocacy and requested deeper collaboration with the university.

He recounted Al-Hikmah University’s growth since its establishment in 2005—from three faculties with 70 students to nine faculties with over 13,000 students today.

He also highlighted the institution’s community engagement programmes, including sensitization campaigns, road safety initiatives, and mentorship schemes for secondary school students.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lanre Nurudeen reminisced about NOA’s impactful “Mamser Days” and assured the agency of the university’s support in integrating NOA’s programmes into its activities, particularly the Youth Mentorship Programme.

The visit, during which souvenirs were exchanged marks another step in strengthening the partnership between NOA and academic institutions in shaping a value-driven society.
