NOA Kwara Commends University of Ilorin Students for Exemplary SIWES Participation
… Urges Caution Against Social Vices
The Kwara State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has commended the University of Ilorin students who recently completed their Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SiWES) with the agency.
The students were praised for their dedication, discipline, and commitment to learning during their time at NOA.
The Director of NOA Kwara, Alh. Dare Abdulganiyu expressed gratitude for the students’ positive contributions, emphasizing that they upheld the values of diligence and professionalism.
“These students have demonstrated the qualities we hope to see in the next generation of leaders. Their enthusiasm and discipline are commendable, and we are proud to have been a part of their development journey,” Abdulganiyu said.
As part of their send-off, the NOA Director and other Management members addressed the students on the importance of staying vigilant against social vices such as substance abuse, internet fraud, and other unethical behaviors.
Highlighting the critical role youth play in national development, the NOA Management urged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence and to be ambassadors of integrity in their respective communities.
“You are the future of this nation. Avoid the pitfalls of social vices, stay focused on your goals, and contribute positively to the growth of our society. Always remember, the values you cultivate today will shape the leaders you become tomorrow,” Mr Tayo Inawole the Deputy Director Programmes, advised.
The Head of Administration Unit, Mr Lionel Ehimen noted that the event also served as an opportunity to remind the students of NOA’s commitment to fostering patriotism, social harmony, and ethical values among Nigerians.
The Public Relations Officer Dr. Raphael Adeyemi encouraged the students to stay connected to NOA’s programs and initiatives as a way of contributing to national progress.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Miss Zainab, a 300-level student of Social Work Department, University of Ilorin noted that the SiWES program has provided them with practical experience in their chosen fields, helping them bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
NOA Kwara’s collaboration with the University of Ilorin underscores the agency’s dedication to youth empowerment and skill development.
