NOA Kwara to Strengthen Collaboration with NOSDRA
The Kwara State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency is set to strengthen collaboration with National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA).
This was made known on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by NOA to NOSDRA office in Ilorin.
The NOA Director, Alhaji Abdulganiyu observed that flooding, fire outbreaks, oil spillages, and other natural and human-induced disasters are preventable if members of the public are empowered with information about what to do before, during, and after such incidents.

He said, as an Agency, “NOA is tasked with the duty of orientation; hence, we will continue to support and work with NOSDRA to educate the residents and people of Kwara on strategies to prevent situations that could harm lives and damage properties.”
The NOA Director, therefore, urged everyone to play their part in the prevention of oil spillages, flooding, and keeping their surroundings clean.
Mr. Adedigba Ibrahim, the NOSDRA Zonal Head, emphasized that since NOSDRA’s establishment in the North Central Zone, it has found a solid partner in NOA.
The NOSDRA Head also reiterated his Agency’s readiness to ensure timely, effective, and appropriate responses to oil spills through cleanup and remediation of all impacted sites to the best practical extent.
Mr. Adedigba noted that the Zonal Office, which comprises three states—Kwara, Niger, and Kebbi—will leverage the spread and strength of NOA to reach out to people at the grassroots on how to prevent and address oil spillages in the interest of all.
