LIFEFOUNT FOUNDATION LEADS GEW KWARA 2025 AWARENESS ROAD WALK IN ILORIN
Lifefount Foundation today led a vibrant awareness road walk across major streets in Ilorin as part of activities to commemorate the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Kwara 2025.
The walk, designed to energise public interest in entrepreneurship and local innovation, kicked off at the Banquet Hall and moved through GRA, Challenge, Post Office, and Offa Road Axis.
The co-founder of Lifefount Foundation, Dr. Yemisi Adeyeye addressed participants at multiple stopover points, emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity across Kwara State.
Dr Adeyeye highlighted the role GEW plays in exposing small businesses, artisans, and youth-led enterprises to opportunities that can help them scale, collaborate, and innovate.
According to her, this year’s theme places strong emphasis on Aso-Oke production, indigenous crafts, digital entrepreneurship, and the role of creativity in economic growth.
Dr. Adeyeye further announced that the Grand Finale of GEW Kwara 2025 will hold by 8am this Saturday the 22nd of November at the Banquet Hall opp government house.She noted that the event will feature high-value seminars by experts on Artificial Intelligence in Business, Asooke Fashion Show, Tax Planning for 2026, access to finance, branding, and digital transformation, alongside a trade fair, exhibitions, vendor showcases, and networking sessions.
The Lifefount cofounder added that entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts, connect with major suppliers, and gain practical insights that can reposition their businesses for growth.
Dr Yemisi Adeyeye also expressed appreciation to the First Lady of Kwara State, Her Excellency Amb. Prof. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, whose support and commitment to youth development, women’s empowerment, and enterprise growth have strengthened the GEW Kwara 2025 vision.
Dr. Adeyeye noted that the First Lady’s encouragement continues to inspire the Foundation’s drive to create inclusive platforms for young people across the state.
The Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, who joined the procession, also encouraged young people to embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to financial independence and innovation. His participation underscored the state government’s commitment to supporting youth-driven economic activities.
The NOA State Director, Alhaji Dare Abdulganiyu, delivered brief remarks at the kickoff point, commending Lifefount Foundation for its commitment to grassroots engagement. He noted that the Agency is keen to support initiatives that deepen economic awareness and promote civic responsibility, particularly among young people, and will not relent.
Representatives from several organisations took part in the Road Walk, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ministry of Education, Port Health Services, ROSOWA, secondary school students, paramilitary organisations, registered vendors, volunteers, and staff of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
At each stop, most notably, Post Office and Challenge residents were sensitised in English, Yoruba, and other local dialects on the importance of entrepreneurship. IEC materials were shared to promote participation in GEW Kwara 2025 and to encourage the community to take advantage of the upcoming opportunities.The Road Walk attracted traders, youth groups, civil society organisations, and community members who expressed enthusiasm about the forthcoming GEW Kwara 2025.
